During a visit to Sir M. A. Refalo Sixth Form in Gozo at the start of the new academic year, Partit Nazzjonalista Leader Alex Borg met the Head of School and the school’s management, as well as teachers, students and staff, and heard directly from them about the challenges and difficulties they are facing — both the constantly evolving challenges faced by educators and those experienced by students.

Alex Borg said that this year’s theme chosen by the United Nations – The Age of Longevity: Rethinking Systems for Longer Lives – reflects the need for policies and services to evolve in response to the reality of a population that is living longer. Since the Broadcasting Authority has failed to fulfil its obligation to safeguard balanced public broadcasting that allows viewers to form their own opinions freely and without indoctrination, the Partit Nazzjonalista had no alternative but to file this case to reclaim what is rightfully owed to it and to all the people of Malta and Gozo – free and impartial broadcasting.

Gozo needs an economy that creates more productive, private-sector and well-paid jobs in Gozo itself

Information presented by the Gozo Regional Committee shows that while the Gozitan economy grew from €615 million in 2020 to €993 million in 2024, its share of the national economy remained at around 4.3%. At the same time, the gap between the number of Gozitans in employment and the number of jobs actually located in Gozo is also growing.

More than half of Malta’s family businesses are seeing their profits stagnate or even decline

The survey, conducted jointly with EMCS, shows that despite higher turnover, 55% of family businesses are facing costs that are eating into their earnings, leaving their profits unchanged or even lower. Only 37% reported both increased revenue and higher profits.

Valletta belongs to the shared heritage of all the people of Malta and Gozo. The PN is extending a hand of cooperation so that together we can tackle the scourge of traffic

The proposal is for the Committee to be made up of three Government members and three Opposition members, with the Speaker serving as Chair of the Committee, which would be established through a joint Motion approved by Parliament. Its members would include the Minister and the Shadow Minister responsible for Sustainable Mobility. Experts and stakeholders would contribute through advice and testimony.

Dignity also means protection. The safety and protection of older people must be a priority. We cannot accept situations in which vulnerable people become victims of abuse, financial exploitation, neglect, isolation or any other form of violence. Every older person has the right to live in a safe environment and to be protected from anyone who seeks to exploit their vulnerability.
