Nifs Ġdid – a better life in a better country
The Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista Alex Borg said that the people want to live a better life that builds on what already exists – A Fresh Start for a people who are tired of ever-increasing pressure, of the rising cost of living, and of a fast pace without direction
Nifs Ġdid – A Fresh Start – because this is what we are hearing from people. A fresh start for a people who are exhausted by the constant pressure of a fast-paced life without direction, who are struggling to keep up with daily life; for a country that is tired because the economy has not kept pace with its people.
At a press conference during which he launched the PN’s electoral campaign under the theme Nifs Ġdid – A Fresh Start – following an election called a year early without valid reason, Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista Alex Borg said that at this moment people are not expecting noise or arrogance, but simply politics that improves their lives – serious leadership that gives peace of mind.
Alex Borg said that a strong economy must deliver wages that are adequate, more time for families, greater certainty for businesses, stronger opportunities for young people to grow, and more dignity for the elderly. He stressed that the question is not whether the economy is growing, but whether people are actually feeling that growth in their daily lives.
A fresh start does not mean dismantling what has been done well, but building on it with a clear plan and for the good of the people, said the Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista. Alex Borg added that in the coming hours and days, the Partit Nazzjonalista will be launching its proposals to deliver a fresh start for our country.
We do not need an economic model that brings more people, more construction and more traffic, but one that strengthens and grows productivity, technology, workers’ skills and innovation. We need an economic model that delivers high value, alongside new economic sectors that will remain sustainable in the years to come. We need an economic model that reduces bureaucracy for businesses, ensures fair wages for workers, gives our young people a positive future in our country, and makes Malta more competitive and attractive.
A fresh start means new leadership – a new Government that lives every day with the people. One that listens, but above all delivers.
The Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista said he wants a new culture of leadership – one that respects people, uses public funds in the interest of the public, strengthens institutions, and rebuilds people’s trust in politics. Above all, Alex Borg said he wants leadership that understands that politics is not an instrument of power, but a privilege granted to serve one’s country.
Alex Borg said that, above all, Malta needs a fresh start that brings unity. He appealed to those who have always supported the Partit Nazzjonalista, saying that now more than ever the PN needs them. To those who may have felt disappointed in the past, he said that through his work he wants to regain their trust, and to those who have never voted PN, Alex Borg said that his door is open and he welcomes anyone who wants to give a fresh start to Malta and Gozo.
“We want a Malta where a worker works to live, not lives to work. Where, like previous generations, our young people have the opportunity to buy their own home; where the elderly live with dignity; where entrepreneurs can continue to grow their businesses without bureaucracy; where families have time for their loved ones; where communities are strengthened; and where progress continues, but above all improves people’s quality of life.”
The Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista said that Malta does not belong to politicians, but to the people. Our country belongs to each and every one of us, and each of us has the opportunity to be part of this journey we have begun to give our country and its people A Fresh Start.
