A clear strategy is needed for the education sector

There is a need for a clear strategy for the education sector. This is why our country needs a clear policy direction, developed through discussion with all those involved. This was the main message conveyed by Partit Nazzjonalista Leader Alex Borg as he led a PN delegation in a meeting with the leadership of the Malta Union of Teachers (MUT), as part of the ongoing consultations ahead of Budget 2027.

During the meeting, MUT representatives, led by President Marco Bonnici, outlined what they consider to be the key priorities for the education sector, including in the context of the forthcoming Budget.

Alex Borg listened closely to the points raised and to the challenges currently being faced by educators and others working within the sector.

The PN Leader also outlined the Partit Nazzjonalista’s proposals for education and explained how these place students and educators at the heart of its policy.

The discussion also focused on the importance of ensuring that education remains a national priority and that there is continuous dialogue with those working every day in schools and educational institutions.

The Partit Nazzjonalista will continue listening to educators and all stakeholders, and engaging with them as part of its work to further develop proposals that address the real challenges facing the sector.

During the meeting, the PN Leader was accompanied by Shadow Minister for Education and Citizenship Jerome Caruana Cilia, Shadow Minister for Finance Adrian Delia, and Shadow Minister for the Economy, Technology and Strategic Projects Darren Carabott.
