Labour Government has left a legacy of unfulfilled promises in healthcare

A full list of promises that the Labour Government has not fulfilled in healthcare.

A complete legacy of unfulfilled pledges – the mental health hospital, the Emergency Department, the Northern Hub, the Mother and Baby Hospital, the new Outpatients, St Luke’s, Karin Grech and the Gozo General Hospital – all have remained on the shelf.

This is apart from promises that were only partially delivered, such as breast cancer screening for those under 45, the Triple A Screening for the elderly, the fund for new cancer medicines which has not been fully implemented, the strengthening of the GU Clinic, and the new collective agreement for healthcare workers which has remained stalled.

This is not how a Government that cares for you prioritises your health.

During a press conference, Partit Nazzjonalista candidates Ian Vassallo and Adrian Delia explained how the Labour Government has wasted 13 years instead of seriously investing in people’s health.

The Partit Nazzjonalista is showing that it has a clear vision for healthcare – a plan for people to have access not only to excellent healthcare services close to where they live and within a reasonable time, but also to benefit from a National Health Park that supports prevention and rehabilitation.

The Partit Nazzjonalista will not leave cancer patients to fend for themselves, and it will provide healthcare workers with the conditions they deserve.

The Labour Government’s lack of vision has led not only to €900 million being wasted, but also to 13 years being lost – years that could have been used to improve services and reduce waiting times for patients.

In healthcare, we cannot afford to be miserly.

For the Partit Nazzjonalista, healthcare is not a slogan. Healthcare has always been, remains, and will continue to be a priority for the Partit Nazzjonalista, and in government it will ensure that your health is once again given the importance you deserve.
