Source: “PN Proposal” reflects the tax bands proposed by the Nationalist Party and includes the guaranteed rebate of a minimum of €1,200 per year. “Current Rates” reflect the rates in force under the 2026 budget. “Labour 2028” reflects the plan announced by the Labour Party up to 2028 according to the budget 2026.
Rebate mechanism: With the PN’s proposal, every eligible person (employee, self-employed person, or pensioner) will receive a minimum improvement of €1,200 per year in take-home pay. When the tax-band revision alone does not reach this level, the difference is made up through a targeted tax rebate — so that no one is left behind.
Note about Labour’s plan for 2028 for single persons and married couples without children: the source document does not specify separate Labour 2028 tax bands for these categories, so the 2026 rates are used as the Labour 2028 baseline for these cases.
