A new PN-led Government will invest fully in Gozo so that the island of Gozo is no longer treated as an extension to Malta, but is truly placed at the centre of national policy.

This was the message delivered by Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista Alex Borg, during a conference held this morning on the future of Gozo, organised by PN MEP Peter Agius. In his address, Alex Borg stressed that Gozo needs a clear vision, serious leadership and concrete investment that delivers results in people’s lives.
Alex Borg said that for many years, the Labour Government promised a great deal to Gozo but failed to deliver what Gozitans truly need: decent health services, quality job opportunities, investment in education, better infrastructure and the protection of Gozitan identity.
The Partit Nazzjonalista will make strong investment in Gozo, including:
- A new General Hospital for Gozo, with an investment of around €350 million, so that Gozitans have access to a modern, serious and dignified health service, without having to depend constantly on Malta for basic and specialised care.
- Investment in education and skills, so that young Gozitans have more opportunities in Gozo itself and do not have to leave their island in order to move forward.
- The creation of quality jobs in new sectors, so that Gozo no longer depends only on traditional employment, but can attract new economic niches, better-paid jobs and opportunities for those who wish to build their future in Gozo.
- Investment in connectivity and infrastructure, so that travel between Malta and Gozo becomes more efficient and the quality of life of Gozitans improves in a tangible way.
- The protection of the environment, heritage and Gozitan character, so that development is sustainable and does not destroy what makes Gozo unique.

Alex Borg said that these are not empty promises, but a clear plan to give Gozo and Gozitans respect, priority and a better future. He said that the Partit Nazzjonalista believes in a Gozo that grows without losing its soul; a Gozo that creates jobs without destroying the environment; and a Gozo where families, young people, the elderly and businesses are given the tools they need to succeed.
The conference brought together representatives from different sectors of Gozitan society, including speakers from the economic, social, educational and civic fields. PN candidates for Gozo Norma Camilleri, Beppe Galea, Luke Said and Frank Anthony Tabone also delivered their message during the conference, while foreign MEPs also shared messages praising the Partit Nazzjonalista’s vision for Gozo.
During the conference, the main challenges facing Gozo were discussed, including those related to connectivity, infrastructure and funding for Gozo. The discussion focused on the opportunities that exist to give the island a new direction.

Alex Borg concluded by saying that a new Partit Nazzjonalista Government would be a Government that listens, plans and delivers. For Gozo, this means strong investment, serious leadership and Fresh Start for an island with great potential, which deserves much better.
