The Association of Catering Establishments declares its support for the PN’s proposals in this sector

For the Partit Nazzjonalista, the tourism industry remains a key pillar of the Maltese economy – the PN Leader during a meeting with ACE

The Association of Catering Establishments (ACE) supports the Partit Nazzjonalista’s proposal to reduce the VAT rate in this sector from 18% to 7%, because costs are continuing to rise and establishments need to become more sustainable.

This declaration was made by ACE President Michelle Muscat, who explained that the Association has long been calling for these establishments to receive more support.

This emerged during a meeting held between the Partit Nazzjonalista and the Association, during which PN Leader Alex Borg explained how a new Nationalist Government will carry forward this vision, while ensuring that tourism remains a key pillar of the Maltese economy. However, this sector must now move towards a model built on value.

This is because, rather than focusing on quantity, the Partit Nazzjonalista’s plan is based on quality tourism that protects our communities, strengthens Maltese and Gozitan identity, and respects residents’ quality of life.

Alex Borg explained in detail the Partit Nazzjonalista’s proposals to give A Fresh Start also to the tourism industry in our country. Among others, a new Nationalist Government will leave more money in the pockets of workers and owners, while through the multiplier effect this growth will reach more people, resulting in greater competitiveness and more sustainability.

A new Nationalist Government will lead an economic vision built on sustainable growth, greater efficiency and a more favourable environment for businesses, so that they can continue to invest and create quality jobs.

Accompanied by PN candidates Jerome Caruana Cilia, Adrian Delia and Charles Selvaggi, Alex Borg reiterated that this meeting further strengthened the consultation process being carried out by the Partit Nazzjonalista to ensure that it provides A Fresh Start for our country.
