PN Leader Alex Borg presents a sworn affidavit in which he denies every allegation made about him by Robert Abela; says Abela must explain why he took no action against the ‘smuggler’ he spoke to

Nothing and no one will tarnish my reputation, and nothing and no one will stop me from working in favour of our country and our people.

Addressing journalists during a press conference this morning on the PN’s proposals for a fairer taxation system, Partit Nazzjonalista Leader Alex Borg explained how earlier today he signed a sworn affidavit before a notary in which he categorically denied every allegation made about him by Robert Abela yesterday.

Alex Borg said the allegations made by Robert Abela about him after the Partit Nazzjonalista presented the Mediterranean Maritime Fuel Hub proposal are nothing but baseless and empty allegations which expose a Labour Party Leader gripped by uncontrolled panic.

The Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista said that no serious Prime Minister of a democratic country speaks to a smuggler and then does nothing about it. A serious Prime Minister, who has sworn an oath to safeguard the interests of the country and the people, would immediately file a report in such a serious case. It appears that Abela did not do this.

Alex Borg said he expects Robert Abela to go to the Commissioner of Police today with all the details he has about this matter.

“I am determined to continue with my work, and I will not allow anyone who has been caught in a panic to tarnish my reputation or in any way hinder me from continuing to work for my country and for the people.”

Alex Borg presented a copy of the sworn affidavit to the journalists present.
