The Labour Party is once again complicit in stealing the leadership of the Ħal Għargħur Local Council

Independent councillor elected Mayor with the votes of Labour councillors

The Partit Nazzjonalista deplores the manoeuvres carried out by the Labour Party, which once again went against the will expressed by the people of Għargħur in the Local Council election two years ago, when yesterday it once again stole the leadership of this locality.

This time, with the votes of the Labour councillors, the Mayorship was handed to the independent councillor, while the position of Deputy Mayor was also taken by a Labour Party councillor.

The Partit Nazzjonalista councillors in Għargħur recall that in the last Local Council election, the people of Għargħur voted for the Partit Nazzjonalista to lead this locality with a majority of 68% of the vote.

Despite this, the Labour Party once again went against the will of the people and deprived Għargħur of having a Nationalist leadership, as its residents had wanted.

This clearly continues to expose the hypocrisy of the Labour Party, which claims to believe in democracy while, in practice, doing the opposite.

The PN local councillors once again reaffirm their commitment to all residents of Għargħur and, despite this obstruction and theft by the Labour Party with the complicity of the independent councillor, they will still continue working for the residents who elected them.
