The Government created the problem and now wants Maltese and Gozitan businesses and families to foot the bill

The Partit Nazzjonalista insists that the Maltese and Gozitan businesses and families should not have to pay for the failure of the Labour Government’s economic model.

After years of building an economy dependent on unchecked population growth, Robert Abela is now proposing that employers bear the costs brought about by that very economic model.

The Government cannot keep burdening businesses with additional costs to make up for its lack of planning. Ultimately, there is a risk that these costs will also be passed on to consumers and Maltese and Gozitan families.

Instead of continuing to make others foot the bill for its mistakes, the Government should take responsibility for the economic policies it has pursued over recent years.

The Partit Nazzjonalista believes in an economic model that creates wealth through productivity, investment and quality jobs, rather than simply continuing to increase the population and the burdens on people and businesses.

If the Government wanted to increase its revenue, it should have looked at curbing the waste of public funds on consultancy contracts for friends of friends, instead of placing the burden on businesses.
