The Sectional Committee of the Partit Nazzjonalista in Msida reiterates its consistent position against the proposed development in Wied tas-Swatar, in Triq Indri Grima.
The Sectional Committee has always given its full support to the Nationalist local councillors who, together with the Labour councillors, objected to the development application for this site.
This message was further reinforced by a petition signed by 1,552 people, in just one month, following an initiative by Msida’s Nationalist Mayor Charles Selvaggi. In addition, the Mayor of Msida was also present at the latest planning meeting concerning the permit.
The Partit Nazzjonalista firmly believes that this space should be kept open and protected as a green lung, which is greatly needed in an already heavily built-up area that also serves the surrounding localities.
The Sectional Committee is therefore appealing to the authorities concerned to give serious consideration, when taking their decision, to the parliamentary petition submitted by the Local Council on behalf of hundreds of residents.
The decision should be taken in the interests of the common good by protecting this important space for present and future generations. The Sectional Committee is therefore calling for the development application to be refused.
