…And the people pay
The Partit Nazzjonalista calls for seriousness and accountability towards the people from Government Ministers. This certainly does not come through unanswered questions and the reckless squandering of people’s money.
A Minister who neither asks nor answers
Minister Chris Bonett neither answers nor asks.
In reply to a Parliamentary Question tabled in the House by Nationalist MP Michael Piccinino, the Speaker said that the Minister for Transport was the Minister who left the highest number of Parliamentary Questions unanswered during the previous legislature.
In total, more than 1,200 Parliamentary Questions remained unanswered by Ministers between 2022 and 2026 – with the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects registering the highest number of unanswered Parliamentary Questions, at 174.
Chris Bonett not only fails to answer, but also fails to ask questions. So much so that he allowed an authority falling under his responsibility to carry out extensive works on land in Marsaskala using public funds, only for us to now discover, after the works were completed, that this is in fact private land and that works paid for by the people were carried out on land that does not belong to the government.
