The vote of the Maltese and Gozitan people on 30 May will determine the next five years – for you and for the country. That is why we need a campaign in which everyone works together, to give Malta and Gozo A Fresh Start and a new chapter.

This was the message delivered by the Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista, Alex Borg, during a political activity with the candidates on the 11th District in Ħ’Attard, where he thanked all those who are embracing the PN’s message and helping the Partit Nazzjonalista’s vision reach more people.

Alex Borg said that the campaign is short and that every person can make a big difference by helping to explain the PN’s proposals and convincing another person to join this journey.

The Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista said that Robert Abela called a general election one year early and is now panicking in the face of the PN’s proposals, to the extent that he has once again resorted to his predecessor. Robert Abela did not expect the Partit Nazzjonalista to be prepared with strong proposals that put people first, including the energy plan that will lead to a 30% reduction in bills and the removal of electricity meter rental charges.

He said that the Partit Nazzjonalista is determined that, in its first Budget in Government, it will allocate the funds for this project so that, from 1 January next year, people will start receiving lower bills.

Alex Borg said that the Partit Nazzjonalista will remain focused and determined, and will not allow Labour’s propaganda, financed by the Government, to derail its work. The Partit Nazzjonalista is presenting solid proposals every day and, in the coming days, will continue explaining how it will give the country A Fresh Start from Government.

During his speech, Alex Borg said that a Nationalist Government had been instrumental in creating and developing economic sectors that diversified the Maltese economy, including financial services, gaming, aviation, pharmaceuticals and the maritime sector. These sectors remain the foundation of our country’s economy to this day and have created quality jobs.

Today, the Partit Nazzjonalista has a solid vision for the future, with serious, feasible and costed proposals, including through the Mediterranean Maritime Fuel Hub, a project that will place our country once again at the forefront of maritime services. This project will use part of Hurd’s Bank to create an offshore LNG terminal, with the possibility of including other fuels in the future.

Alex Borg said that this project is estimated to generate around €450 million in the first three years for the Maltese economy and create 150 quality jobs for Maltese and Gozitan young people.

The Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista also said that, through this project, a Nationalist Government will remove the gas tanker from Marsaxlokk Bay and move it offshore, where the investment in the Mediterranean Maritime Fuel Hub will take place.

He recalled that 13 years ago, the Labour Government promised the residents of Marsaxlokk and Birżebbuġa that the gas tanker would remain there for only three years. Yet 13 years later, the tanker is still there.

Alex Borg said that removing the tanker from Marsaxlokk will bring peace of mind to residents in the surrounding areas, including those of Birżebbuġa and Marsaxlokk, because the danger of a gas tanker so close to people will be removed.

The Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista said that the PN is shaping policy for people – this is what it is doing when it promises new hospitals, cancer treatment on the formulary, lower electricity bills, and this is what it will continue to do to give our country A Fresh Start. “Join us so that, on 30 May, we can write a new chapter for our Malta and Gozo.”

In his speech, the Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista thanked all those who over the years served the country and the Partit Nazzjonalista on the 11th District, particularly David Agius, who will not be contesting the general election.

During this political activity, the candidates contesting the election on behalf of the Partit Nazzjonalista on the 11th District, which includes Ħ’Attard, Mosta, Mdina and Naxxar, also addressed those present.

Ivan Bartolo spoke about three values embodied by Alex Borg – honesty, humility and the courage he instils in all those who work with him. He said that the Partit Nazzjonalista, led by Alex Borg and supported by George Vital Zammit and a full team of professionals, is presenting people with proposals that can improve their lives. He said that people are struggling to breathe in this country. “That is why we need A Fresh Start – we need Alex Borg as Prime Minister,” Ivan Bartolo said.

Dione Borg thanked all those who attended the activity and said that Ħ’Attard was, remains and will continue to be a stronghold of the Partit Nazzjonalista. He saluted a number of people from Ħ’Attard who worked for our country and for the PN over the years. Dione Borg said that our country is at a crossroads because the future of our country depends on us. He said that no one should be impressed by Labour’s powerful propaganda. “Take courage. Let us once again give people greater confidence in politics.”

Rebekah Borg spoke about how much she admires the beauty of Ħ’Attard and the way the community of this village comes together. Rebekah Borg said that this does not mean everything is perfect in Ħ’Attard and, like every village, residents in the area face a number of problems. She said that every problem has a solution. And the PN is presenting solutions for our country – such as the proposals that will reduce electricity bills. She said that the Partit Nazzjonalista is presenting solutions for people.

Edmond Cuschieri thanked the Partit Nazzjonalista for the way it welcomed him into its family and for the courage everyone is giving him to also work for change in the country. He said that the Partit Nazzjonalista slogan, A Fresh Start, is well thought out. In recent days, with the proposals presented by the PN, the Labour Party has been left breathless. He said that while Labour is promising the impossible, it does not have money for free cancer treatment. He appealed to everyone to leave their homes on 30 May, go and vote, and vote for A Fresh Start.

Bernard Grech began his speech by thanking all those who are supporting the Partit Nazzjonalista. Addressing Alex Borg, he said that two years ago, when he was Leader and Alex Borg was a Member of Parliament, the Partit Nazzjonalista achieved a very good result. “Today, with me as a candidate and you as Leader, I am here so that together we can give this country A Fresh Start.” Bernard Grech said that anyone stuck in traffic today or on a hospital waiting list, anyone who wants change, must go and vote for A Fresh Start on 30 May. “Give us your support. Give your support to Alex Borg – together we will give you A Fresh Start.”

Joseph Grech said that the 11th District is his natural district. He said that his journey in the Party began at a very young age through all the Party’s structures. Today he is also a father and therefore understands very well the difficulties faced by those who want to build a family, buy a home and live a quality life with their loved ones. He said that he wants to work so that everyone can truly have a quality of life, and that Alex Borg’s energy fills him with energy to work harder. He said that this is a crucial moment for our country – when we will choose where we want to take our country. “I want to see everyone get A Fresh Start, and that Fresh Start can be given to us by the PN and tomorrow’s Prime Minister, Alex Borg.”
